Shell festival weekend

Louise and I enjoyed a Saturday where we had very little to do. Past weekends have been rather busy for one reason or another.
So our Saturday started very relaxed, it was mum's sixtieth birthday and together with Trev in the UK, we planned to set up a webcam and use 'Skype' to video call her. Mum looked so excited, it was really great. The connection wasn't great but she could see us and us her. This is actually the first time we have seen each other since I left the UK. Wow, my mum has lost so much weight, I'm so proud of her. I really hope she enjoyed her birthday.
Louise and I headed off for the 'Jeffrey's Bay Shell festival', the weather wasn't great sadly but the event was nice. A lot of people put a lot of effort into making it happen. I took a few pictures which I've posted on my photo blog site (I'll talk more about my new photo blog later). The event is a bit like a great big community fete with people setting up their tables and selling all kinds of things. Louise and I came across a couple from our Church who was selling homemade jams and things; we brought a very nice onion jam that you can use on chicken etc (very nice). We wandered around further and I brought a hat for an incredible R.40, what's that in pounds? Less then £3.50, cool eh?
The festival is clearly very well liked in the Eastern Cape and people are coached in from all over. It lasts for four days in total, each day their are special events happening from groups dancing, to walks from J'bay to Aston Bay etc, plenty to entertain yourself.
I'm writing this on Sunday and the weather is a little bit showery, the showers are very short, hopefully it won't stop people from going, I'm sure Louise and I will go again today.
Our day didn't finish their, we later met with a young couple who had visited our Church. We got together for coffee and a chat, they seem like a very nice couple and will be meeting with us and our small group on Tuesday to go to our local cinema, we're going to watch the new 'Harry Potter film', we also hope they might join our Church.
A great day ended with us flaked out at home for the evening with the new 'Spiderman three' movie. All I can say about this film is, 'how disappointing!'
So, I said I will talk more about my new photo blog. It's something I have started this weekend because people are asking to see pictures of my surroundings. There is a link to this new blog under my profile details, to the right of this screen (Or copy and paste this link onto your web browser: http://mlk30.blogspot.com). Please do visit it; I hope to regularly update it with new pictures.
As I talk about this, I want to ask you to go to my 'guest book', its something new I've started and will give me an opportunity too hear from you. Tell me what you think of my blog and any suggestions you might have. Ask me questions and ask for things you want me to include, but most importantly, tell me about you, and what's new in your life.
Well on that request I'm going to sign off.
God blessed you.
